Sometimes it is hard not to worry. Everyone does it. It’s hard to be productive and happy when we’re worrying all the time. It can steal our joy and rob us of our lives. Most of the things we worry about will never happen. I read that only 8% of our worries are about real and legitimate concerns. This means 92% of worrying is a complete waste of time! Worrying isn’t going to do or change anything. It leads to high levels of stress and anxiety without being actually helpful. Worrying isn’t good for us, so what do we do?
Lately, I have not been able to lay flat because it immediately gives me a headache. It seems like it is shunt-related, which is scary since the shunt has caused me so many problems. I try not to think of the worst case scenario but I can’t help but worry.
My brother, Jacob, wrote a note that said, ‟Worry about nothing at all, because you can’t add a minute to your life by worrying.”
He is right, but really it is impossible to stop worrying completely. But the Bible tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
We must constantly talk to God and give him all of our worries!
I am feeling better now and I’m grateful that these symptoms have mostly subsided. Say a little prayer for me, that they completely go away and that I don’t have any shunt problems!
What are y’all worried about today? Let me know in the comments and I’ll say a prayer for you too!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!?
