I even met one of my best friends there!!! Me and Brooklyn were instant friends! We climbed trees, found every four-wheeler trail and flew through them a million times a day, floated down the creek (we quit doing that after we saw a snake and swore it was chasing us.), and so much more. We had so much fun over the years and we still laugh about all the adventures we had!!!
Since my accident, going camping again wasn’t something I really thought of.. I couldn’t imagine it even being possible! But dad thought about it! For months, he had been talking about to getting a camper that is handicap accessible. I had never even thought about something like that!

He was scrolling through Facebook one day and happened to see exactly what he had been looking for— a motor home a lift!!! I can just drive my chair up to it and it lifts me up into the motor home. Turns out, they were friends of Joeys and gave us a good deal! Within the next two days it was sitting in our driveway just waiting on a roooad trip! We were so excited!!!
First, we took a day trip to Peach Park and had such a fun time! The four hour drive there and back was way more enjoyable in the motor home.
Our next trip was to Smith Lake for the 4th of July. It is my absolute favorite holiday and this the first year since my accident that I got spend it just the way I like it— all weekend at the lake! We grilled out, made S’mores, and hiked through the bike trail! It was so fun and it would’ve been pretty much impossible to do without the camper! I can’t wait for our next adventure! Where should we take a trip to next?!
The Smokey Mountains or out west!!!
West: Yellowstone, Tetons, Big Sur, CA (campground is surreal).
Fall Creek Falls in Tn. It’s fairly close and beautiful with a lot to do.
