I can remember watching a show called ‟The 700 Club” with mom when I was younger.
Pat Robertson and Terry Meeuwsen are the hosts and they tell stories, read testimonies, answer questions, and a lot more!
Toward the end of the show, they say a prayer for whoever God places on their hearts. That has always been my favorite part but I have to be honest, I’ve been a little skeptical. I have wondered ‟Is it reeeallly God speaking to them?” I have thought maybe they just take a chance and say something and out of all of the people watching, it’ll probably speak to someone.
During the few months that I was in the hospital, I got woken up all throughout the night. Most nights I wouldn’t go back to sleep for hours!
One night I woke up to ‟The 700 Club” right in time for my favorite part! I thought ‟Oh, maybe they will pray for me!!!”
But, as they were finishing and I hadn’t heard anything that related to me, I decided it wasn’t going to happen. Maybe next time!
How could they know that I was lying in a hospital bed, awake in the middle of the night, listening to the tv that had been left on from hours before. How could they know I was actually hoping they could pray for me? They had no idea, but God knew.
So, as the prayer was wrapping up and I was thinking maybe next time, Terry said, “Wait, one more! For someone who has been jarred in a car accident, you will twist and turn just like you used to!!!”
I was amazed and couldn’t wait to tell everyone when they woke up. Did I just hear what I think I heard?! Now, I don’t have a doubt that they are hearing from God when they pray!
Sometimes, if I am discouraged over how slow I make progress, I think back to that night. I believe God knew I would need reassurance every now and then. He knows what you need too, and it’s coming!!! I hope this encourages someone today just like it encourages me every time I think about it!

In God, there is hope. His mercies are new every day. I am blessed with your journey of hope and faith.
