Christmas is here!!! The season has passed so quickly and I want to share my favorite things about it.
Christmas is a time of joy, love, and togetherness, and the traditions we have make it even more special.
Here are some of my favorite Christmas traditions that I enjoy every year!
1. Decorating for Christmas
Of course, this is the kickoff to the season!
In 2019, my sister helped me hang an ornament on the tree. We caught on camera and now we call it our ‘Annual Christmas Photo!’
This year, Collins didn’t want to participate. It wasn’t until Rainie said, “Who can hang the ornament on the tree faster— Collins or Jane Jane?!”
She quickly jumped in on the fun saying, “No, me!!!”
2. Highlands Christmas
No Christmas is complete without the delightful service at Church of the Highlands!
One of my favorite moments is at the very end. It starts so simply—with just one candle flickering in the darkness. Then, one by one, the flame spreads from person to person.
Before you know it, hundreds of candles are glowing, as everyone sings Silent Night.
It’s such a powerful reminder that even the smallest light has the power to grow and fill the darkest places.
In the same way, our actions, kindness, and attitude starts a chain reaction, touching lives we may not even realize.
3. Wrapping Presents with Virginia
As soon as the holiday season begins, I’m ordering presents!
- Because I LOVE GIVING PRESENTS!!!! I love the excitement of selecting thoughtful gifts for my loved ones, reflecting their personalities and interests.
- Because I have to get them all before Virginia comes to wrap them!
Rainie and Virginia became friends 10 years ago when they started working together at Childrens.
I joined the club when I went there for therapy after my accident. They both came to see me often and I became friends with her too!
One year, Virginia offered to wrap my presents and it has been a tradition ever since!
4. A Paper by Janey Tradition
Three years ago, someone gave me a donation and to me to send cards to my charity of choice.
It immediately sparked the idea to send Christmas cards to those serving in the U.S. military.
I started a GoFundMe— $1 = 1 card
In all three years combined, we have sent about 8,300 cards.

Conclusion
These Christmas traditions hold a special place in my heart and create lasting memories each year.
