Tomorrow is Election Day 2020!!!
In 2008, when I was in 3rd grade, I remember my teacher handing out pretend ballots to fill out.
Now, I am 20, and I voted for real!!! I was excited to actually have a say in the next election.

1) You have your opinion!
Everyone should vote, because everyone has an opinion. Get informed and make a decision that aligns with your beliefs.
Only 55% of eligible voters voted in the 2016 election, but I know everyone had an opinion about it!
The whole purpose of democracy is for every person to have a say in what goes on, and when only half the country is voting, not everyone is being heard.
2) You shape the future!
Voters literally have the future of the country in their hands so I hope this encourages anyone reading this to to use the opportunities given to them to make a difference in America.
3) You have the right!
In many countries, people are not happy with the world around them, and they don’t have the option to change that.
All around the world, people are denied the right to vote and have their voice heard, and they don’t even have the option to shape their government and their future.
But, we do not have that problem. You have the power to make decisions that can affect our country.
4) Your vote matters!
If you ever think that just your vote out of millions cannot make much of a difference, think about one of the closest elections in U.S. history.
Al Gore narrowly lost the Electoral College vote to George W. Bush in 2000. Bush ended up winning Florida by only 537 votes. There could have been a different president from 2001-2009 if just 600 more Gore supporters showed up to vote!
Presidential candidates always say the coming election is the most important in our lifetimes. But, this time it might actually be true! So go use your voice!!!
“Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it.”
